🐾 Hey there! I’m Jake!
I’m a big, easygoing 3-year-old boy who made the trip from eastern Kentucky after my family could no longer care for me. I spent most of my previous life outside, but I’ve discovered this whole indoor living thing and I have to say… air conditioning during a hot day and a cozy place during a storm? Huge fan. 😎
Even though living in a house is fairly new to me, I caught on quickly. I’m housebroken, respectful when guests come over, and I don’t destroy your things. Basically, I already understand that being invited inside is a pretty good deal!
🚗 Road trip? Count me in. I love car rides and settle in calmly and gently for the journey. My foster mom has even started calling me “Jake from State Farm” because I’m so calm, friendly, and dependable. 😂 I’m the kind of guy who can go places with you, settle in, and just fit into the situation.
And despite being a big young guy, I’m no wild man on walks. My foster mom was expecting a challenge, but it turns out I’m more of a loper than a sprinter. I walk nicely and happily keep pace with my 12-year-old foster fur sibling. We’ve also been working with a training leash and discovered that I have pretty good recall. ⭐
🐶🐱 I’ve gotten along great with every dog I’ve met, including other adolescent males, and I’m doing great with the resident cat too.
But one of my greatest talents? Napping. 💤
I’m a champion napper and an even better snuggler. I’m happiest when I’m close to my people. I don’t need to be the center of attention every second — sometimes just having your hand resting on my fur while you’re doing something else is enough for me. I just like knowing my people are nearby. ❤️
I do have some itchy skin and ears that the wonderful vets working with MLRR are addressing. I’m also heartworm positive and have already started treatment. MLRR will cover the remainder of my heartworm treatment through their veterinary partner. I’ll just need a calm place to recover while I finish getting healthy.
At the end of the day, I’m a big, gentle, affectionate guy who is remarkably easy to have around. My foster family says the combination of my young age and calm personality makes me a pretty special dude.
If you’re looking for a best friend who can join you for a car ride or a walk and then happily settle in beside you for a serious afternoon nap, I think we should meet. 🐾❤️
