Hi! I’m Norma Jean! I am one of the sweetest, most mellow girls you’ll ever meet, living life at an easy pace with lots of love to give.
I was found wandering down the side of a road in southern Illinois, but honestly, I was probably just heading toward someone like you. All I really want is to be near my people. I’ll gently come over for love and pets, and when I’m really happy, I’ll chatter my teeth in excitement. It’s my version of a happy dance! But if you’re busy, I’m happy to just curl up nearby and nap the day away (ideally on a comfy couch).
I don’t need constant attention, just a calm place to call home. I am super friendly with new people, everyone I pass on the street says the same three things: “Awww” “So cute!” “She’s big!!” They’re not wrong! I’m a tall, sturdy girl with a soft coat and an even softer heart, which makes me even cuter.
I live life at a pretty relaxed pace, offering that sweet, soulful presence. But don’t be fooled: when it’s time to go out, I leap down the hall like a puppy! I walk great on a leash and enjoy taking my time to sniff everything along the way. I can easily go a couple of miles at my own pace, and I’ll probably benefit from some regular walks as I work on slimming down a bit.
I’m living in the city right now and I’m not bothered by any of the sights, sounds or commotion at all. I get along wonderfully with the dogs I meet on the street. Sometimes I just stroll on by, other times I stop for a polite sniff or a tail wag. The only time I bark is when a small dog starts first – then I’ll let out a few friendly barks, just to say, “I see you!” (Full disclosure though: cats aren’t really my thing.)
At home, I’m an angel. No countersurfing, no rummaging through trash, no mess. I do really well left alone without a crate, I basically just sleep until you’re back. If you’re looking for a gentle, quiet, loving old soul who wants nothing more than to be near you and enjoy the simple things, I think we’d be perfect together.
