Hi, I’m Max! I’m originally from Alabama, where I had a tough and disappointing start to my life. I wasn’t shown the respect, care, or love that I truly deserve. I’m four years old and full of love, even though I’ve experienced trauma. But now, I’m ready to step into a life filled with people who adore me.
My foster mom calls me a love bug, and it’s true—my heart is huge. My body might not be too big yet, but I’m gaining healthy weight and recovering strong from years of not having enough food. My foster mom really appreciates how quiet I am in the kitchen, even though my nose is always twitching at the delicious smells. She also loves how gentle I am with the five foster children who give me all their love. I even get to sleep with one of them, which is the best!
Now that I’m in a safe place, I’m really enjoying comfy naps on the couch, plenty of walks and hikes, and meeting lots of neighbors—I love people! Everyone tells me how handsome I am and what a good boy I am for not jumping up. Good manners come naturally to me, I guess. I’m curious about other dogs I see, and I’m grateful for the thoughtful introductions I’ve had with other dogs through my foster family. After spending so many years being scared and unsure, I really appreciate the patience shown to me in new situations.
