Hi everyone!
My name is Joy, and my foster dad says I’m an exceptional dog. I’m not totally sure what that means, but I think it means I’m a really good girl—and I try to be every single day!
I’m still a puppy (just 9 months old), which means I’ve got lots of energy and curiosity, but I’m already learning all the right things. I’m not a tiny lap dog—you might think I’m a little bigger than I realize! I’m still growing and don’t always know my own size, especially when I get excited or playful.
I love going for walks and do a great job staying right by your side without pulling. When we come to a street, I know to sit and wait before crossing—safety first! I know my basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come,” and I’m also fully house-trained (yay!). At bedtime or when you need to leave the house, I go right into my crate like a pro and sleep peacefully until morning.
Meeting new people is one of my favorite things! I get VERY excited, but I settle down after some time and my foster dad is working on teaching me how to greet humans politely. I hope my new family will remain consistent with my training so I grow into a super polite girl! I’m also super respectful when I see other dogs out and about—I’ll sit quietly even if they’re barking. So rude, right?
I love to play—fetch is the best! Whether it’s tennis balls or stuffed toys, I’m always ready for a game. I’m also a great car companion: sometimes I look out the window, other times I just take a nap and enjoy the ride.
Because I’m still learning boundaries and can be a little mouthy and rambunctious during play, especially with wrestling, I’d do best in a home with older kids who understand puppy behavior and can help me keep learning my manners. I’ve got so much love to give and I can’t wait to share it with a family who will help me grow into the amazing dog I’m meant to be.
If you’re looking for a smart, fun, and loyal young pup to be your forever friend—I hope I’m the girl for you!
