They call me a Velcro dog—wherever you go, I want to be right there with you. Whether I’m snuggled up on the couch or romping around the yard, my favorite place is by your side.
I’m super cuddly and thrive on attention, especially from my favorite little humans. I love playing chase with the kids and soaking up every bit of affection they give. I’m also really food and treat motivated, which makes training me pretty easy!
I’ve got a playful spirit and I get along great with other dogs. Just a heads-up, I’ve got some puppy-like energy, so I do best with dog friends who are patient and tolerant. I’d do better in a home without cats or chickens… I just can’t help wanting to chase them!
I’m still working on a few things! I am learning to not put my paws up on the counter, and getting more comfortable riding in the car. I also get excited at the beginning of walks and pull a bit, but if you’ve got tasty treats, I’ll listen! I am super easy to redirect if I get a little too "puppy" and know "Drop it" when I find a toy that I'd love to claim as my own (but belongs to one of the humans). When I meet new people outside the home, I might get a little vocal, but it’s just because I’m excited and I am learning they don't need to hear me!

Gunner is in a wonderful foster home in Georgia... but unfortunately, folks in his area prefer to adopt the big scary dogs for protection and labs like him don't get a second look. He's too goofy and fun for the average adopter in his area and we couldn't help but step into help! Gunner arrives in the Chicagoland area on July 30th and will be ready to go directly into his new (and forever) home! Gunner is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, and Heartworm negative!
