Hi Everyone My name is Apollo and I’m about 4 years old.
My foster dad says that I’m the most cooperative dog he’s ever met. If you tell me to get in the car, or go lie down, or even get in the bathtub, I’ll do as I’m told. Actually, I love getting a bath.
One of my favorite activities is laying on the couch next to my human friends and being scratched and petted. I’ll roll over on my back for tummy rubs too. I’m a big guy, but I know to move over so there’s room for you on the couch or on the bed. Wouldn’t want to squeeze you out.
I’m a good sleeper and won’t get up until you tell me it’s time. I never make any noise during the night. I also know not to disturb anything while you’re not at home. There’s no need to lock me up in a crate, but if you really want me to, I’ll go in there with no problems. I take a nice nap while you’re out, and wait for you to come back when I can greet you with my tail wagging. I would never think of going potty inside the house. Nobody likes that.
People tell me I’m a little too big around the middle, so I guess I need to lose quite a few pounds. My vet told me that my trachea isn't as strong as it should be due to my size, but don't worry, they tell me that all I need to do is lose a little weight and it will be just fine. In the meantime, I am happy, comfortable, and ready to play or nap (whatever is on the agenda). Even though I am a little heavy, that doesn’t stop me from playing with my toys or a ball. The thing that is really fun for me is making snow angels. I roll around in the snow and then shake it off and its big fun.
I’m pretty good at walking on the leash, but I am a little distracted by all those great smells along the way, so I might need a little help with that. So, if you’re looking for a big, soft, handsome dog to be your very best friend, I hope I’m the one for you.
