Hi, I'm Annie! I’m a 7-year-old retired 'breeder mom' from Iowa, and now that I’m done loving on my puppies, I’m ready to love my new human family! Could it be you?
I’m already super sweet with my foster family, including adults, teenagers, and even a dog friend. Maybe it’s because I’ve been a mom, but I’m very calm and mild-mannered. I don’t bark much — just make cute little sounds when I’m dreaming (or so they tell me). Even the construction going on at my foster home doesn't bother me a bit - it just means more nice people to pet me and tell me what a pretty lab face I have and how ridiculously soft my fur is!
I'm also a really nice size - just over 50 lbs and in pretty good shape if I do say so myself!
I love sniffing around, taking leisurely strolls, and snoozing the day away. Since I’ve mostly lived in an indoor/outdoor barn, I’m super curious and still learning about all the new things in this world! I’m doing great at going outside to do my business — who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Stairs, though, are a little intimidating to me. I’ll need some patience and encouragement as I figure them out.
What I’d really love is a forever home where I can relax by your side all day and be let outside regularly. I’m learning how to play and am a natural retriever. I enjoy slow, meandering walks where I can sniff around. I’m also very friendly, happy to meet new people and dogs. My absolute favorite thing is to rest my head on your lap.
