Hey there! I'm Coal – yep, just like a lump of it! I'm absolutely LOVING life in my foster home! My first family had to let me go, and while I'm a little sad about that, I’m having a blast with my two foster sisters and my foster mom, who takes me on long walks every day. I didn’t get much exercise in my old home, so I’ve put on a few extra pounds. Right now, I weigh 68 pounds, but the vet says I should get down to about 55 pounds for a healthier me.
I'm a super happy boy, and cuddling is one of my absolute favorite things to do! I'm super affectionate, and my foster mom says my name should be “Shadow” because I follow her everywhere. I even try to join her in the shower! The first thing I do every morning is run down the stairs and make a beeline for the toy basket. Those soft, squishy, squeaky toys are the best! But I get a little carried away, so I need supervision because I sometimes destroy them. During the day, I hang out with my foster mom while she works, and I’m a good boy—no chewing on anything I shouldn’t!
I’m potty trained and have never had an accident in my foster home. One of the best things about me is that I always take care of business right away when I’m outside or on walks. Gotta get that out of the way so I can go back to playing! I love going on walks with my two foster sisters, and I’m learning to stop pulling on the leash (though I get really excited about our walkie walks!).
When I meet new people, I tend to get pretty excited and jump, so I'll need some help with gentle corrections to work on that. I still have a lot of puppy energy, so I hope my forever family enjoys staying active and will take me on lots of walks. I haven’t been crated in my foster home, but I’ve been left alone with my foster sisters for short periods with no issues. A foster brother or sister would be awesome!
