Hi, I’m Zoey — and I’m kind of a miracle. I was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) in both shoulders, a painful condition that causes joint damage and could have led to a life of discomfort and disability. But thanks to the incredible kindness of MLRR donors and so many loving friends, I was given a second chance. Over $10,000 was raised so I could get the surgery I needed — and because of that generosity, I’m now living a life full of possibility and hope. So many people came together to make sure I could live my best life, and I carry that love with me every day. I can’t wait to meet my forever family and share all my love with you.
Now? My shoulders are getting stronger every day, my scars are healing, I’m walking without a limp, showing no signs of pain, and feeling better than ever. I’m active, alert, and full of curiosity. While I’ll need a little extra care as I continue healing, it’s all very manageable. My forever family just needs to watch for occasional limping and keep some affordable anti-inflammatory meds on hand — just in case. I’ll also be on joint supplements for life (they’re over-the-counter, budget-friendly, and taste great!). I also need to stay nice and lean to keep my joints healthy and strong.
Even though I’ve had a tough start, I don’t let it slow me down. I can go on walks, gentle hikes, swimming adventures, and play with my dog friends. I just have to steer clear of high-impact stuff like jumping, climbing, or trying out for “Doggie Ninja Warrior” (tempting, I know).
At home, I’m a total dream. I’m crate trained, house broken, and have wonderful manners. I absolutely adore my foster sister — we play, we nap, we hang out like besties. I’d be so happy to have a canine sibling in my forever home, but I’d also be perfectly content soaking up all the love as your one and only. My favorite place to be is right by your side!
And most importantly? I’m incredibly sweet. Like, heart-melting, cuddles-on-cue, pure-love sweet. My vet couldn’t believe how strong and resilient I am (especially right after double shoulder surgery!!). Everyone who meets me falls for both my spirit and my softness.
I’ve been given a second chance thanks to so many kind hearts — now I just need a forever home to share mine with. Could it be you?
