Hi Everyone! My name is Tootz and I’m looking for a new home. I may have had a bunch of birthdays, but I’m pretty young at heart. People who meet me are always surprised that I’m 8 years old!
I love going for walks. My foster dad says I’m a pretty good walker, especially with my gentle head leader. We zoom around the block and I walk right next to him like a pro. I also love playing with stuffed animal toys. If you throw one, I’ll bring it back and return it to you after giving it a really good shake! And if you don’t feel like throwing it, no problem — I’ll toss it up in the air myself. I have this stuffed parrot, and when my foster dad says, “Go get the bird!” I search around until I find it and proudly bring it to him.
I’ve learned lots of good manners, too. I know my name and will come running when you call me. I can sit and wait patiently, especially if you have a treat (treats are the best!). You don’t have to worry about leaving me home alone — I won’t cause any damage, and I’ll be waiting at the door with my tail wagging when you get back. I know that potty time is for outside only — anything else would be really impolite! I’m also a great sleeper and would love to cuddle up next to you and snooze through the night.
I love meeting new humans and other dogs — I just get so happy!
One thing I’m still working on is car rides. I haven’t had very many, so they make me a little nervous right now. But I do love a good adventure, and I would really love a patient family who can help me learn that going places can be fun and exciting. With a little encouragement and practice, I know I’ll get there!
