Sheppy is 3 years old and super sweet. She is a dainty 40 pound lab mix. She gets along well with all humans and pups. She loves to play ball, chew bones, and play with stuffed animals. She was one of 64 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation in Texas.
When she first meets new people she likes to lay on her back for belly rubs or jump up to give "hugs". Her foster family taught her that she gets the same attention form sitting so she does not jump as much anymore. She loves to go on walks and is quickly learning how to properly walk on a leash. She is always on the look out for squirrels. She loves treats and learns quickly. She sometimes gets confused and thinks furry slippers are toys but she has not destroyed anything.
She loves to snuggle on her terms. She prefers to sleep in her dog bed and she spends her time alone uncrated.
Sheppy is heartworm positive (hw+). HW is NOT contagious. The only way a dog can get heartworm is from a mosquito bite after the mosquito bit a hw+ dog. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about heartworm...especially if you're interested in adopting Sheppy.
