NOTE from MLRR ~ Murphey found his perfect forever home about a month ago and has been living his best life. Unfortunately MLRR just learned that his adopter tragically and unexpectedly passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. The adopter's family and friends are unable to keep poor Murph, so he is again on the lookout for a forever home.
Murphey is the perfect companion and the perfect house guest; however, he needs to be the only pet in the home. He will not be a dog that spends time hanging out at dog parks, but he loves all people and walks pretty nicely with the use of his gentle leader.
Hi, I'm Murphey, and I’m on the lookout for my forever home! I may not be a spring chicken anymore, but I can still chase squirrels out of the yard with the best of 'em. My foster human says I’m the best-trained dog he’s ever had—though I’m not entirely sure what that means, I think it means I don’t have any bad habits. I’m a good listener and follow the rules.
For starters, I know not to jump on people, especially since I’m a big guy! My nose might reach the edge of the counter, and I can smell all the tasty things up there, but I’ve learned not to jump up and grab them. When we go for walks, if my human says "wait," I stop immediately and won’t move until he says it’s okay. And pottying inside? Never. I’m house-trained and always wait until I’m outside.
When it's mealtime, I sit patiently and wait for my human to tell me it’s okay to eat. Once I get the go-ahead, I finish my food pretty quickly! I love to play, especially in the water, but my favorite thing is just being with my humans and getting lots of pets and attention.
I’m well-behaved when left alone, so you don’t have to worry about any messes when you're away. However, I do have one request: I prefer to be the only pet in the house. I really love my human friends and would rather keep all the attention for myself. No other dogs or cats for me, please!
