Adopted!
Hi, I’m Lance and I’m what my foster family calls a “professional dog.” So why don’t I have a family of my own? Unfortunately, I was abandoned by my owner on the side of the road, but a Good Samaritan brought me to a shelter.
I think I’m called a Pro Dog because I’m totally potty trained and I always keep all four paws on the ground, even when I meet new people and when the delivery man rings the doorbell (which is all the time since it’s Christmas time). They probably also call me a Pro because I walk like such a gentleman on my leash, and I know how to sit and come on command.
I KNOW my foster family appreciates my sweet and gentle demeanor because they kind of go crazy with hugs and kisses when I lean into them looking for praise and affection. What can I say? Words of affirmation is my love language.
There is one small thing you oughta know; I am Heartworm positive, but it’s OK…it isn’t contagious! I’ve started treatment for it, and I’ll just need a little time to recover.
If you want to enjoy long walks at a leisurely pace, I’m your guy. If you appreciate a dog who lies down rather than begs at mealtimes, I check that box, too. I have loved all kinds of hugs and rubs from my five human foster brothers and sisters and I’m referred to as “bomb proof” when it comes to the activity, noise, and pace of a happy family.
So, what do you think? Are you ready to add a “professional dog” to your family?
