Adopted!
Hi there! I’m Jellybean, a 2-4 year old yellow Lab mix found as a stray in Texas. I had at least one litter of puppies when I was rescued by MLRR. I was pretty sick, tired, and skinny at that time — only about 53 pounds, when I should be about 80, according to the nice vet that helped me. I was also really sick with parasites, had trouble eating, and only wanted to sleep. Fortunately, my foster mom and dad were really patient with me and the good folks at MLRR got me the vet care I needed. I LOVE eating now, have put on much-needed weight, and even my fur has grown lustrous and shiny!
I’m super good with other dogs — I have a foster brother and sister at home. I LOVE going on long walks with my foster mom, and am really good on leash, no pulling or tugging, but I do stop and stare down the squirrels! I’d really like to chase them, but mom says they’re just taunting me. I also love chasing bikes and motorcycles, so I need to be on leash at all times and closely supervised.
I’m very good indoors, not a single accident in my foster home! Even when I was so terribly sick, I made sure to wake up mom at night to go potty. She says I’m a really good girl.
I’m not terribly playful, but I’m learning! Tennis balls are my favorite, and I like to throw them up in the air and chase them. I really like people, kids, and other dogs, and perk up at the sight of them. The one thing that bothers me is storms. I’m terrified of them, and shake uncontrollably. It might be because I was out in the elements during storms when I was a stray. Mom says I’ll need special care and maybe prescription medications to help me during storms. I’m just really glad I’m not out on my own anymore and so happy MLRR rescued me.
So, what do you think? Do you have a place in your heart and home for me?
