Adopted!
My name is Groot, and I'm tall, dark, and handsome. Once you look into my deep brown eyes, you'll fall in love with me and my big, blocky head!
I was found underweight and with an injured back leg in another state. A kind lady helped me get the care I needed and reached out to MLRR for further assistance. Now, I'm at a much healthier weight, and my knee cap has been fixed! Thank you MLRR foster homes, volunteers and donors!
I really like people. My foster home has older kids, and I love playing with them. At night, I even get to bunk with one of them - no crate needed! I've been around younger children too, but since I'm solid and on the tall side, I think I'd do best in a home with kids over the age of 8. I don't want to accidently knock a little one over, ever. I get along well with other dogs at my foster homes and would be happy to have some friends in my new home, as long as they're about my size.
I don't mind going in my crate, but don't need it. I don't have accidents and I don't chew your stuff either. So I'm hoping to gain your trust quickly so I can roam free. The good news is I am a true gentleman. I sit to say please and love to give you my paw even if it interacts with your kindle or ipad:) I bark at appropriate times. I LOVE food and treats, but I don't counter surf. I also don't fight over treats with the other dogs. I will sit and stay before you put my slow-feeding bowl down.
My favorite thing in the world are balls. I love to fetch them and then disintegrate them - so fun for me! But if the other resident dog gets the ball first, I do not fight for it back. Please have lots of old tennis balls for us to play with every day. I'm chill on car rides, but on a leash, I will pull for bunnies and ducks, so please have treats ready to keep my attention. After some activity I settle down right away and can rest for nice stretches.
Please come visit me so I can meet you, and you can see for yourself what an awesome boy I am!
