🎶 "Do I remind you of your daddy in his '88 Ford? Labrador hangin' out the passenger door..." That line could have been written just for me—hi, I’m Deacon! I’m a go-anywhere, love-everyone kind of guy with a heart as big as my tail wags. I recently made the trip from Tennessee to Illinois after my family, worried they no longer had enough time for me, made the tough decision to help me find a new adventure.
I’m house-trained, sleep through the night, walk well on a leash, and come when called. Car rides? Love them. I’ve also met a few dogs in my foster home and have gotten along great with each one after a proper introduction. I’m happy with a couple of walks a day and some retrieving time in the backyard—seriously, throw me a ball, a frisbee, a toy… I’ll catch it midair like an athlete and drop it proudly at your feet.
With my bunny-soft fur and long eyelashes, I’ve been known to earn a few extra pets (and I’m not complaining). I’m sticking close to my foster mom for now, but my confidence grows every day. I don’t dig or chew, and I end my days the best way I know how: snuggled up on the couch.
Like any self-respecting Lab, I’m highly food-motivated and may sit politely nearby during mealtime—just in case you feel like sharing. I’m a big boy with a strong tail, so maybe keep your drinks up high… and have a dish towel handy, because I love giving kisses.
