Hi everyone! My name is Chris, and I’m about three years old. I’m a big guy with huge paws, but I’m still kind of skinny, which just means I’m getting lots of dog food now. YAY! I love dog food!
One of my favorite things to do is curl up on the couch next to my human friends and soak up all the scratches and pets. I’ll even roll right over for tummy rubs — they’re the best! I’m a great sleeper, too. I won’t get up until you tell me it’s time, and I never make a peep during the night. When you’re not home, I don’t disturb a thing. There’s really no need to lock me in a crate (I much prefer being out with my people!), but if you really want me to, I’ll go in without any fuss. I always greet my foster dad at the door with a wagging tail when he comes home.
I love going for walks and I’m ooooook on a leash. Sometimes I get a little distracted by all the amazing smells along the way, so I might need a tiny bit of help staying focused. I also love meeting new people, everyone says I have the softest fur ever!
Now, I’ll be honest about one little thing. Because I’m still so thin and working on gaining weight, I might check out the counters if there’s something yummy within reach while you’re gone. A growing (okay, filling-out!) boy gets curious! But if you tuck those tasty snacks safely into a cupboard, I promise I’ll go right back to being the very best boy.
Here’s the deal — I have a very mild case of heartworm. But DON’T worry! The wonderful people at Midwest Labrador Retriever Rescue are loving me and taking great care of me now. I’ve already finished the first part of my treatment, and the rescue will cover everything needed to get me completely cured with one of their vet partners in Northbrook, IL.
I came all the way from far away to find my fresh start, and I’m just the nicest guy. I love absolutely everyone — humans and my canine friends, too! If you’re looking for a big, soft, handsome dog to be your very best friend, I really hope I’m the one for you.
