Hi, I’m Charcoal, a soft-hearted, soulful young lad who’s equal parts cuddlebug, sidekick, and mellow best friend.
I’m about 1.5 years old, but I’ve been told I have the good manners and chill energy of a much older dog. I’ve still got some puppy charm, I’ll greet you with kisses, climb into your lap for a belly rub, and give you my paw just to say hi, but I also know how to relax. After some cuddles, I’m happy to find a spot nearby and nap while you work, read, or do your thing.
I came from Texas, where I was found as a stray with two other Labs, and I’ve adjusted quickly to city life. At first it was confused with city life, but now I love taking in the sights and smells on our walks! I follow your lead on the leash, and if you stop to chat with someone, I’ll just lie down politely and people-watch until we’re ready to move on.
I’m fully house trained, sleep through the night in my crate, and don’t make a peep when you leave the house. I don’t bark much at all, unless I’m really excited playing with another dog, and then you might get a few joyful yaps.
Speaking of dogs: I love them. I’ll stop in my tracks to watch them pass, and if we get to say hi, I’ll give a classic puppy bow and try to make a new friend. But if you want to keep it moving, I walk along with you. I’m gentle and polite, never pushy.
Inside, I’m easy. No counter surfing, no accidents, no chewing on the wrong things. But hand me a Nylabone or a Kong, and I’ll entertain myself like a pro. I’m curious, but respectful. Cautious at first with new people, but all it takes is one kind hand and I’m all tail wags and kisses.
Basically? I’m that rare combo: a young, healthy pup with sweetness, softness, and just the right amount of goofy energy. I’m fun and easy to have around at the same time. I’m looking for a forever family who wants a loyal companion, one who’s happy to play, happy to lounge, and happiest just being near you.
