Role Description - Events Committee

MLRR attends a variety of dog-related events around the Chicagoland area that provide the opportunity to recruit volunteers, create awareness of rescue and MLRR, and showcase dogs available for adoption.

We are looking for a few people to work with our Events Coordinator to take turns setting up and tearing down our booth and being the point person at these events. The ideal individuals for the committee love Labs, are dependable, are available on weekends (as these events are typically scheduled on Saturday or Sunday) approximately once per quarter, are social, and LOVE promoting our rescue.

Please note that being on the committee does NOT mean you have to participate in person at every event!

The Events Committee will:

  • Help identify events in MLRR's service area that offer the opportunity to recruit volunteers and create awareness of rescue and MLRR
  • Take turns with the responsibility of setting up and / or taking down our events booth and taking event supplies to and from our storage unit located in the Western suburbs.
  • Take turns with the responsibility of being the point person at events and ensuring volunteers understand the focus of the events

If you are interested in joining this committee, please fill out a volunteer application here. Please make a note of your desired position under Volunteer Interests - Other.
