Role Description - Event Coordinator

MLRR attends a variety of dog-related events around the Chicagoland area that provide the opportunity to recruit volunteers, create awareness of rescue and MLRR, and showcase dogs available for adoption.

We are looking for a couple of people that can take turns being the point person at these events. You would coordinate set-up, make sure event volunteers know what to do, actively market MLRR at the event and help with end of day breakdown. The ideal person for this position is dependable, available weekends (as these events are typically scheduled on Saturday or Sunday), is highly social, and LOVES people.

The Event Coordinator will:

• Identify and register for events in MLRR's service area that offer the opportunity to recruit volunteers and create awareness of rescue and MLRR
• Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to staff events with both people and foster dogs
• Read and reply to emails addressed to the Event Coordinator in a timely fashion
• Attend quarterly Board/Coordinator meetings
