Role Description - Assistant Foster Home Coordinator
The Assistant Foster Home Coordinator for MLRR has the primary responsibility of assisting the Foster Home Coordinator with the recruiting, on-boarding, training and supporting of foster home volunteers for the rescue.
Some of the specific responsibilities shared with the Foster Home Coordinator are:
- Vetting potential foster home volunteers, including calling references and completing an in-person or virtual home visit.
- Welcome new foster home volunteer to the team and reviewing the key points of the foster manual and setting expectations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with foster homes through all means of communication, including, but not limited to email, text, phone, messenger and Facebook.
- Be a mentor and a resource throughout the foster process, especially for our new foster home volunteers.
- Check in after initial foster dog arrival.
- Check in after 7 to 10 days.
- Provide help with adoption dog profile process, if needed.
- Provide help with the placement process, if needed.
- Fill in for foster home coordinator during vacations, etc.
- Attend Board/Coordinator meetings.
- The ideal candidate is organized, is detail oriented and possesses excellent communication skills. Estimated commitment is 15-20 hours per month.
