Hi, I’m Mac — your future couch buddy, walking companion, and all-around best friend. I started out in a loving home, then moved to a foster in Missouri when my family couldn’t care for me anymore. Now, I’m full of love, big-hearted, and ready for my next chapter. I’m the perfect mix of “let’s walk!” and “let’s nap.” I love walks, hikes, and any adventure but I also love to just lay around too! I may be a big guy, but I’ve got a steady, determined pace and plenty of energy when it’s time to move. I’m also working on shedding a lot of extra pounds, and I’m doing great!
Car rides are new to me, but I’m getting the hang of them. I usually just lie down quietly and trust that my humans aren’t taking me anywhere scary — and I know with more practice and fun destinations, I’ll learn to love the ride. At home, I’m a total gentleman. I’m fully house-trained, don’t need a crate, and I’d much rather be hanging out wherever you are — ideally right next to you. I’m big on cuddles, but even bigger on stuffed animals. Seriously, I hope my forever home has a solid plushie collection, because I love to greet my people (and guests!) with one in my mouth, tail wagging and eyes sparkling. It’s kinda my thing.
I’m also a smart dude who loves treats, which makes training a breeze. I already know "sit" and I’m always up for learning more if snacks are involved. I get along great with other dogs — I’m not pushy, but I’m happy to join in if another pup wants to play. I’ve even lived with cats before! I’m a super gentle guy who just wants to get along with everyone. I haven’t lived with kids, so I can’t say for sure how I’d do, but I’m calm, polite, and don’t jump up on people, so I’d probably make a great buddy for a little human.
I’ll definitely let you know when the Amazon driver shows up (you’re welcome), but that’s about where my guard dog duties end. Once someone walks through the door, I go full-body wiggle and just want to be friends — dogs, people, maybe even burglars. I’m all about spreading the love. So if you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, go-anywhere, nap-anywhere kind of best friend — with a soft toy in his mouth — I’m your guy.
