Merlin is the kindest, most gentle black Lab you will ever meet. At 7 years old, he should be enjoying life, but instead, he had been living in discomfort for far too long.
When his owner became homeless, everything changed. Not only could they no longer care for themselves, but they could no longer provide for Merlin. Through no fault of his own, Merlin found himself in pain and in need of help.
Merlin is a bit overweight, which only made his knee pain worse. When our rescue partners in Missouri reached out and asked if we could help, we did not hesitate to say yes.
Within just two days of arriving in our care, Merlin underwent TPLO surgery, a highly effective procedure that stabilizes the knee after a ligament tear and helps dogs walk, run, and play again without pain.
