Hi everyone! I'm Toby, and my foster family says I'm pretty special.
From the front: handsome. From the side: stunning. From the back: amazing! They also tell me I'm a very good boy, and I have to agree.
When I was rescued, I weighed nearly 200 pounds (yes, really!). Over the last year, I've lost more than 50 pounds and am getting closer to my goal weight. I'm under the care of a great veterinarian, take a simple thyroid medication, and am otherwise a healthy guy. I'll need a family committed to helping me continue my journey to a healthier weight.
I'm a gentle giant who loves people. I'm very social and enjoy being around my family, whether it's getting scratches from my foster dad, having my head petted by my foster mom, or watching the world go by from the front window. I also love spending time in the backyard and keeping an eye on the park across the street.
My foster family takes me on daily walks, and I've become much more active since coming into foster care. I walk very nicely on a leash, enjoy long strolls, and love keeping up with all the neighborhood "pee-mails." Car rides are another favorite, especially when they include a stop at the drive-in bank for a treat!
I'm not much of a barker, but I am a bit of a talker. I'll happily let you know when I'd like something. Other dogs don't bother me when I'm out walking, and because of my size, I'd probably do best in a home with children just a little older so I dont knock anyone over!
Overall, I'm a sweet, affectionate, easygoing boy who's come a long way and is ready to find a forever family to love. Could that be you?
