Lucy

Adopted!

Hi everyone, Lucy here! Am I not the cutest little lab you've ever seen? My foster family calls me a "pocket lab" cause I'm just 40 pounds. Perfect size, right? I can snuggle on a chair, couch, dog bed, car seat but my favorite place is on your lap. Yup, I love to be with my humans. As you can see, I have big brown eyes and the softest fur just made for petting.

Although I heard I was a 'stray", I waltzed right into this home and settled in easily. I heard my foster mom brag about me being completely potty trained, although I have no idea what that means. Isn't that what a yard and walks are for?? Speaking of walks, my humans put the prettiest harness on me and together we go around the neighborhood. I love to sniff, say hi to people and get my steps in. It's fun, plus I get treats along the way. At first, some of the street noises scared me, but not anymore! In fact, I'm a pretty chill girl overall. That big storm the other day? I didn't even wake up. Take our walks in the rain? Super fun! The UPS person, seems nice enough and not worth getting up. New person came in to fix something and a couple treats later we were besties.

When my foster family leaves for a few hours, I get to go into my own nice, quiet place. They give me a yummy chewy, I take it into my dog bed and happily get to work. This took a while, but we practiced lots. Now, my mom has to wake me up when she gets home!

Some more bragging points...I figure out doggie puzzles easily, I sit, give paw, and take treats gently. I go to sleep at night happily and won't stir until you tell me its time. I have no desire to leap over the 5-foot fence because, well I like being at home! I may chase a squirrel or two, but I'd rather just sit and enjoy nature.

Things I'm working on...I just love my walks and don't want to wait any longer than necessary so sometimes I try to sneak out the door. I'm learning to "wait" but it is hard! I did get some cheese as a reward and that was worth it. I'm selective about other dogs, but my foster mom thinks with time and training we can figure this out. Apparently, before I came here, I played really nicely with other dogs. I've been through a lot recently, so just bear with me!

Car rides are fun! Not to the vet, but to the pet store, ha-ha. I was very popular there and many people wanted to adopt me. Plus, I got lots of toys and treats.

So, what do you think? Wouldn't I be just the perfect little fur baby for you?
