Hi! I’m Rufus, and I’m basically a bundle of lab energy wrapped in a mix of yellow and chocolate — because why choose just one color when you can have both, right? You’ll notice my cute little brown speckles all over, and trust me, they’re just as adorable as they sound.
I’m a playful, cuddly, and loyal companion, and I love being around my people. Cuddling is my favorite thing, but I also enjoy zooming around the yard with my foster siblings or going for walks. I’m getting better at loose leash walking every day, and I think I’ll be a pro soon! Fetch is brand new to me, and I’m determined to be a professional fetcher. Tug is also so cool—my foster brother taught me that. And I’ve learned that my crate is a cozy, safe place to sleep at night, and I’m fully potty trained now!
Life inside is still pretty new to me, and I’m loving all the fun things I’m discovering. Some things are still a little weird, like why my mom uses a noise machine to dry her hair or what’s up with that vacuum thing. Oh, and I did bark once at a dog I saw in the mirror (who was that?). But I’m a curious little guy, and I’m learning fast!
One thing I know for sure is that love feels amazing. I’m learning that humans give love, pets, and treats—not harm—and that’s made my whole world brighter. I’m sweet and would be just as happy with other dog siblings as I would being the only dog getting all the attention. I haven’t met kids yet, but my foster mom thinks I’d be gentle with them too. I just want to make everyone happy and show you all the love I have to give.
Now, I’ll admit, I’m still a puppy, so sometimes I think socks, shoes, and soft things like blankets are just there for me to carry around and play with (the socks are irresistible). But I promise, I’m learning to be a good boy!
