Hi! I’m Izzy—and I might just be the perfect pup you’ve been searching for. With a sleek black coat and a little white heart on my chest, I’ve got the looks and the love to match. That heart isn’t just for show—I’m full of affection, cuddles, and tail wags just waiting for my forever family.
I LOVE people and other dogs, and I’m happiest when I’m snuggling, giving kisses, or curling up in bed with my humans at night. I’ve also got a playful side—I adore toys (and showing them off one by one), going for walks, and zooming around the tennis court when it’s empty. Squirrels and bunnies are very distracting... I’m working on leash manners, but the wildlife around here is just so tempting!
I wasn’t always this lucky. I was rescued by MLRR after spending some time on the streets in Louisiana. Now I’m living it up in a foster home with another dog, who’s helping show me how to be a proper house pup. We share treats, hang out, and I’m learning all the good stuff—like how to sit for cookies and “pre-wash” the dishes in the dishwasher.
My foster dad even took me to a block party, and I was the star of the show! I love meeting new people, getting pets, and making friends. When my humans are out, I stay in a crate (they say it’s safer because I like to explore the counters a little too much). But don’t worry—I get plenty of bones and toys to keep me busy!
I’m also a big fan of:
-
Treats (seriously, they’re the best)
-
Toys (especially parading them proudly)
-
Cuddling (all day, every day)
-
Exploring (especially anything involving food)
One last thing: I’m heartworm positive. But don’t let that scare you—MLRR has already started my treatment and will cover all the costs through one of their trusted vets. I just need a little extra care while I recover, which mostly means more rest, quiet time, and—you guessed it—cuddles. Heartworm is common in the South, but with treatment, dogs like me bounce back completely.
