We are Ivory and Ebony, two loving sisters who have spent our entire lives together, and we're looking for a family who will welcome us both into their hearts and home.
Our world changed recently when our beloved mom suffered a serious fall and injury. Her recovery will take many months, and although it broke her heart, she made the loving decision to ask MLRR to help us find a safe, happy forever home where we can stay together.
I'm Ebony, about 8 years old—the older, wiser, shiny black sister. And I'm Ivory, about 6 years old—the younger, more energetic (and, if you ask me, cuter!) sister. We're a true team. We walk together, eat together, sleep together, play together, and keep each other company every step of the way. Ivory always keeps an eye on Ebony, and we're happiest when we're side by side.
Our favorite part of the day is our morning walk. We used to enjoy two miles in the morning and another two in the evening, but summer heat and fireworks have us sticking to morning adventures for now. Ebony is the picture of a perfect walking companion, strolling along with a calm, steady pace. Ivory is a little more enthusiastic and may pull when something exciting catches her eye—especially a bunny, so hold on!
At home, we're happiest wherever our people are. If you're in the kitchen, we're there. Watching TV? We'll happily join you on the floor, the couch, or even the bed if invited. We love pets, attention, and simply being part of the family. We have a soft indoor bark that politely lets you know when it's time for a potty break, and we enjoy chatting with the neighborhood dogs from the backyard.
We love spending time outside in a fenced yard, but don't expect us to enjoy getting sprayed with the hose—we'll take the air conditioning instead, thank you very much! We also love playing tug-of-war with each other and with our humans. (Humans are surprisingly easy to beat!)
One thing you'll quickly discover is that we're very interested in whatever you're eating. We don't get table scraps, but we'll happily supervise every meal. Just don't leave a plate unattended or food sitting on the counter—we're curious girls! Ebony here, and you might notice my eye looks a little cloudy, because it is! I can still see super great, but my eyes do show their age a little :)
This has been a big transition for everyone, but we're grateful to be safe with MLRR while we wait for the perfect family to find us. If you're looking for twice the companionship, twice the loyalty, and twice the love, we just might be the perfect pair.
Ivory & Ebony are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. We can't imagine life without each other, and we hope our forever family won't have to imagine life without us.
