Hi there! My name is DeeDee. I’m a petite, sweet, and affectionate Lab who absolutely loves to cuddle. If you’re sitting on the couch or relaxing after a long day, there’s a very good chance I’ll be right next to you!
I’m a pretty easy girl to live with. I’m crate trained, potty trained, and I do great in the car, so I’m always ready for an adventure or even just a quick ride to grab a pup cup. I’m also a very easy walker on a leash, which means our strolls together will be calm and enjoyable.
Right now I live with my foster sister, and I’m really good at sharing. Toys, bones, balls—you name it! I’m a good sport and love playing with other dogs. My foster home has introduced me to new dog friends, and I’ve done great with all of them. I would be happy living with another dog, but I could also do just fine being the only pup, especially if I get lots of love and attention.
I’m still young, which means I have a little puppy energy and curiosity. Sometimes if shoes or belongings are left where I can reach them, I might think they’re toys (oops!). I’m still learning and will need a family that can help guide me with a little training—but I’m a smart girl and eager to please.
I love kids and people, and while I might be a little cautious when I first meet someone new, I warm up quickly and show my sweet personality.
One thing my future family should know about me: my early life was a little tough. As a very young dog, I had a litter of puppies, but sadly none of them survived. After that, I was dropped off at a shelter in Louisiana. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive the preventative care I needed, and as a result I’m heartworm positive.
The good news is that my treatment has already been arranged with a veterinarian in Naperville, and it’s pre-set and pre-paid. I’ll just need a loving family who can help me through that process while I get healthy.
More than anything, I’m just a sweet-natured girl looking for a family to love. I promise to bring cuddles, smiles, and lots of tail wags to the right home.
