Nick here. I’m a 13-month-old blonde Labrador Retriever with a curiously curly tail. My Foster Dad says I am a “good boy” as I am very affectionate and listen to him (usually).

I’m house broken and will tell you when I have to go outside, sometimes by being persistent in needing attention, sometimes by gently grabbing Dad’s wrist. He likes it when we tussle, and I know my boundaries when using my mouth. Speaking of my mouth, I’ll eat pretty much anything on the floor, so keep the floors clean! I ate a business card yesterday. Rooting around in the trash can by Dad’s desk is the best! I am learning he does not appreciate that.

Taking road trips in the car is GREAT! Can’t wait to get the car and can’t wait to get out to see where we are! I sit nicely when asked and when treats are available, and just before the door opens when we go outside. Dad says I am obsessed with treats and food, whatever that means. Whenever anyone else is eating, I am right there, although I respect their space.

I am crate trained but would much rather be outside. I’m such a good boy my foster family lets me roam around the house when they’re not home but it’s best to keep me in just one or two rooms without little knick-knacks to chew on. It’s so much better than being in the crate as I can get a little whiny.

Long walks are the best!! I get excited when I see a squirrel, a dog, or another human. I’m strong and can pull hard, but we have been working on leash training and I am beginning to understand what Dad wants. I like other dogs, but I am best with one that matches my energy. The only thing I don’t like is when another dog is around my food.

I love sleeping with Dad, but I will also sleep on the floor or in my bed. If you love doggie kisses, I'm your man! Adjusting to new people has been easy for me. I love my foster parents, and I’m sure I will love you, too!
