Howdy everyone, my name is Bucky. Somehow, MLRR found out I was a stray way down in Texas and brought me here. Since then, I have been to what they call a vet, rode in the car and am living in a house with other dogs and a family. Turns out, I don't have any medical issues and I didn't make a peep when I was crated in the car. I get along with the dogs, but I am totally into the people!
The food here is awesome. I eat it ridiculously fast which causes me to reverse sneeze and sometimes I have to start all over again from off the floor. So now, I don't get all my food at once. I don't try to take the other dogs' food or counter surf. I will sometimes chew on a bone or toys for a short time but never your stuff.
I have been going out to do my business in a fenced yard. Sometimes though, in the morning, I don't have my priorities straight. So, if I come to your house, please know that it is best to let me out again immediately after breakfast. Outside, the two resident dogs are kindly showing me how to protect the compound from the fattest squirrels I have ever seen and to make sure the perimeter is secure. I like running with them but, honestly, the security thing is not my jam. Often, I will just choose to stay in by the cool people instead of playing with the dogs.
I have been on the leash a couple times. I am very focused on sprinkling the trees and will pull a little to get to them. I don't look at my person much as I am keeping an eye out for surprises like moving flags and rustling ornamental grass. I did like the yummy treats I got on those walks, so I'd be ok with learning how you want me to walk on a loose leash.
To be perfectly honest, I am a little skittish. New sounds, sudden noises, new people are all a little scary for me. I don’t growl or bare my teeth; I just quickly move away and take a minute before returning slowly. So, I would probably do best in a calm, quiet house.
My favorite place is by the grown-ups. I don't care if they are at the desk, in the kitchen, on the sofa or sleeping. I always want to be right by them. And I am an A+ cuddler!
My foster mom says I am super sweet and gentle. Once foster mom stirs a little in the morning, I like to wake her up gently and in the most loving way that never fails to put a smile on her face. Not a bad way to start the day!
So, whaddaya think? If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, loving dog that needs a little patience and understanding, then I’m your guy! I’m so excited to find the right family – then maybe we should change my name to Lucky ’cause that’s what we’ll all be.
