Hi, I’m Chance!
I’m a 10-month-old gorgeous chocolate boy, and I’m looking for my forever home. I weigh 55 lbs (a lil guy!), and I came all the way from Beaumont, Texas, but I’ve adjusted quickly the past couple weeks and am ready to find a family of my own.
Let’s start with the fun stuff: I LOVE walks! The second I see my harness, I’m jumping 3 feet in the air, ready to go. I’ve got lots of energy on my walks but I’m doing really well with my leash training—pulling less and getting better each day. I do get a little excited when I see other dogs and might whimper because I want to play with them so badly, but we’re working on this with treats and patience.
When we’re not walking, I’m all about the belly rubs and affection. I’ll give you kisses, lick the back of your knees while you’re walking just to say hi, or curl up next to you and fall asleep with my head in your lap. I’m the perfect work-from-home companion, happy to snooze near you while you work for hours, as long as you give me attention with walks or some playtime.
I’m also crate trained and potty trained – only a couple accidents when I first arrived. When you say “go to bed,” I know exactly what to do (especially if there’s a treat involved!) and sleep through the night like a champ. Gotta get my beauty rest, right?
How am I at home? I’m super well-behaved! I don’t chew anything I shouldn’t, and I’ve never tried to break into the trash or my food. I haven’t quite figured out toys yet—I’ve got a stuffed avocado that I like, but heavy bones or ropes aren’t really my thing. I prefer playing with you!
I’m still getting used to new spaces but I’ve made huge progress! I’ve gotten used to all the noises of the city, mastered elevators and automatic doors in my high-rise, and love all the people out walking around. Of course I love parks and yards, too, so I can handle wherever my new family lives.
