Hi there people! My name is Tess.
I’m the sweetest girl surrendered by my heartbroken family due to an illness. I am a beautiful, healthy, well-loved 10 year old. BUT, I have no health issues and my family made sure I always got plenty of exercise, so I am in terrific shape. No people food for me, except maybe the occasional treat or string cheese stick as a special reward.
I am so very happy to meet you, no matter who or how old you are, babies, kids, kids at heart, I’ll greet you with a tail wag, a full body wiggle, and kisses if you allow it. I love to play with my toys, join whatever games the kids are playing, retrieve my ball, or join you on a snowy walk with lots of sniffies. After that, I’m happy to curl up in my bed or on the floor and watch the festivities or nap.
If I’m sleeping, the kids can sit on me, snuggle with me in my bed, dress me up, pet me… whatever! I just like being part of the fun! I walk well on a leash and am not reactive to other dogs (I love everyone!) I know my name and respond to it quickly. I also know sit, stay/wait, retrieve, drop it, and give paw. When I need to go out, I stand at the door and wait for someone to notice. I am quite a smarty pants!
