Adopted!
Hi, my name is Ryleigh and I am 16 months old. I am a sweet and sassy girl, have a lot of energy, and am curious about everything!
Right now I live with another energetic dog like me, and we really like to play together. There are also two young kids, and two cats - boy are cats different! I tease them a bit, with a little barking and chasing, but mostly I just ignore them. I really like the kids, though, especially because they never seem to notice when I steal their snacks! YUM!
They tell me I am a typical Lab puppy. I love to chew on my toys, and LOVE treats and bully sticks. Sometimes I get so excited to see my human friends that I jump up to hug them, or to take a peek at the food on the counter, but I am learning words like “off” and “stay”. I do know how to sit nicely, and to go to the bathroom outside. Oh, and did I say I like to take walks? I love walks, and am starting to get used to this leash thing.
Mostly, I just want to be with my human friends. When they leave the house, I do stay in a kennel, but like to sleep at the foot of their bed at night. I really like it when they pet me and give me love! I am just a lovable girl who is ready for a furever home!
I am eligible for our Direct Adoption Program. This program is for MLRR Approved Adopters interested in puppies less than 1 year old, dogs over 7 years old and medical case dogs, including dogs that test positive for heartworm. An Approved Adopter takes ownership of the dog for a 2-week wellness period. That time is extended for dogs with extensive medical needs (like heartworm) since treatment times are typically longer. During the wellness period, MLRR covers all medical expenses. Once the treatment is completed, the adoption is finalized.
