Hi, I’m Roscoe! I may have been found as a stray by a kind Good Samaritan, but you’d never guess it—I carry myself like a gentleman who’s known nothing but love his whole life. I’m calm, affectionate, and incredibly well-mannered.
I’m currently living with a wonderful foster family that includes five human children, and I absolutely adore them. I’m gentle, slow-moving, and never jump up. At night, you’ll often find me sleeping at the foot of one of the girls’ beds—one of my favorite places to be. My manners are so good that I don’t even need a crate when my family leaves the house. I simply find a cozy couch and enjoy a nice snooze.
I may have a few gray whiskers on my snout, but I still love a good adventure! I enjoy hikes and recently took a stroll through a creek on a mild day. My foster family thinks I may even enjoy swimming. Not much rattles me—busy households are right up my alley.
I’ve been fantastic meeting other dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages, and I warmly greet every person I meet. My foster home has been under construction, so I’ve met lots of big men with tools coming and going—and I’ve loved every one of them. I also go on plenty of car rides with my foster mom and am a quiet, polite passenger. Even when kids hop in and out, I stay calmly in place.
If you have children, I’d love to be part of your family—I promise to be the best fur brother ever.
A quick health note: Roscoe is heartworm positive, but please don’t worry. MLRR has a trusted partner in Naperville, IL, who will cover his entire treatment. All Roscoe needs is a family willing to get him there.

I should also mention that I have heartworm... but MLRR is covering the cost of my heartworm treatment with an amazing partner in Naperville, so I’m in great hands while I get healthy and almost ready for my forever home. 🐾
