Hi, I am Gunner Boy and I am just the sweetest gentle giant.
I made my sporting skills apparent to my foster family immediately by seizing every opportunity to swim and always being excited about a game of fetch. I am a true retriever and come right back with the ball, which is very fun for everyone. I retrieve in the water and on land.
I was rescued as a pretty underweight guy who had been abandoned by my family in Missouri. As most labs do I love food and I’m gaining weight very nicely. I’m otherwise healthy and gorgeous guy.
I absolutely love the five Foster children that I live with and I’ve enjoyed meeting many dogs of all sizes during my time in my foster home. My foster mom really appreciates how attentive I am to her and generally stay close to her side, even when we’re out walking around the yard. I definitely know my name and respond very promptly to “Gunner, here!” am I smart or what? I also know how to sit and I walk well on a leash.
At night I’m happy to sleep on any available for floor space and never attempt jumping up on the bed. I am a very quiet sleeper. One of the cute things that my family appreciates about me is that I nibble ripe red raspberries, right off of the raspberry bushes. It’s pretty hilarious!
During the day, I’m happy to be wherever the people are and have visited baseball games, the farmers market and downtown festivals. When I’m home alone during the day, I prefer to be outside of the crate. I really take comfort in having some talk radio on such as national public radio. Of course my favorite thing is to have my people with me or me to be with them during their daily routines. If you were looking for a beautiful dog, who can kick it into gear for playtime or take a rest when it’s not my turn, then I am your guy!
