Hi there! My name is Gordy, and I’m a shiny black beauty with kind eyes that I love to show off—especially when I rest my head on your lap. I’m about 6 years old, weigh around 85 pounds, and I’m starting a weight-loss journey so my harness fits a little better (new year, new me!).
I’m a gentle, affectionate guy who truly enjoys being near my people. I love going for walks and do pretty well on leash—unless I think there might be ducks ahead, then all bets are off! Squirrels usually take one look at me and decide to run the other way. When we’re at home, I’d be thrilled to lounge on the couch, but I’m also respectful of house rules if that’s not allowed.
I take a few naps each day, sometimes snore a little (I’ve been told it’s cute), and I can happily settle into my dog bed if my foster family is busy. I enjoy sleeping in the same room as my people and like knowing where they are.
I have a calm temperament and enjoy doggie daycare, though on walks I can be a little chatty as I want to go say hi!
My favorite things include bones and playing with my stuffed lamb—especially if it has a squeaker!
I came into foster care because my previous mom and dad had some health changes and couldn’t take me on walks anymore. They loved me very much and wanted more for me, so now I’m here, ready for my next chapter.
