Hi everyone, Coco here! If you look at my pretty photo, you'd never guess what a rough start I had in my short life. I was dumped at a shelter after having a litter of pups, was missing a lot of fur and had some medical issues from overall neglect. But now I've been told I am gorgeous with a glossy coat and bright green eyes. Yup, life is good, and I am healthy, happy, and ready for my forever family!
Although I was a bit nervous at first, it didn't take me long to get settled, especially as I have a big basket of toys and balls to play with, comfy dog beds and couches to lounge on! I really like my foster Mom and Dad and follow them around all the time. They call me a "love sponge" as I can't get enough belly rubs and pets. They also say I am really smart. Although I hadn't learned any manners in my past life, I am now a star pupil. In just a short time I know sit, down, paw, wait and come, and I'll even jump in the shower so I'm clean and fresh after my romps in the yard!
My foster family thinks I was an outdoor dog as I am so happy sniffing and enjoying life in the backyard. It goes without saying that I take care of "business" outside! But I quickly run inside when I am called so I can curl up and cuddle with these nice folks.
I'm still getting used to this harness and leash thing; it makes it really hard to take in all of the great smells in the ’hood. But I now look forward to our daily walks and enjoy the treats that help me walk nicely. I am nervous and bark when I see other dogs on my walk, but my foster mom is helping me. She says with training and patience, I will be fine ’cause I am a really sweet, smart dog.
I am ready for my furever home and hope that someone wants a little sweet Coco to keep them warm and happy! If you are an approved adopter who would like to meet me, please email Placement Coordinator.
