Midwest Labrador Retriever Rescue, MLRR, is an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for unwanted or abandoned Labrador Retrievers. All rescued Labs are placed in foster homes where they can be evaluated for temperament and level of training before being adopted.
Hi! My name is Jack and I'm a sweet 10 1/2 year old. I am a big boy - 97 pounds - but I should lose a little weight and get down to around 90 pounds. I do have arthritis in my back & my knees, but most of the time, you'd never know. My foster Mom tells me that I shouldn't try jumping in excitement because I have bad knees. I just get so excited when she gets home. She's also started giving me glucosomine and I think it's working because I keep forgetting that my knees and back are supposed to hurt. I don't need to be crated at all. I don't chew on anything I'm not supposed to. I am very interested in food, though! I get along well with my foster siblings, although they're kind of aloof. I'd like a home with another buddy if possible, but if not, that's fine, I can handle being the only dog. I also love kitties! I would probably do best in a ranch style home or one with limited stairs so I don't have to worry about them as I get older. I do need a little more leash training. If there's nothing I'm interested in, I walk just fine, but if there's something I want to see, I'll pull you right along with me.
If you're looking for a distinguished gentleman, who still has plenty of love & kisses to give, let me be your Jack of hearts!!
