Fiona - Adopted!
Hello, my name is Fiona! I’m looking for a new place to call home. I need a family who will be very patient with me but I’m worth it. I am a beautiful, fun-loving 6-month-old pup who likes to romp and play, but at heart, I am a bit of an older soul.
Timid is the word to describe me, and, well, maybe cautious, too. It takes me around a day or two to get friendly with new dogs and a little longer for me to warm up to people depending on the person. But … kids, as long as they are kind to me, are great! I have a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old human sibling right now and they are pretty cool! Honestly, it’s the tallest people who take the longest to earn my trust, but it will happen. I love my treats and respond very well to food motivation (which is great for training!).
I need a nice quiet place to myself to feel comfortable at home. A crate with a blanket over it with a cozy bed is perfect, but I’m not too picky - just a spot to retreat to when I need to take a break. I spend all night in my crate with no problems and hardly make a sound. Actually, I am a pretty quiet dog!
I’m still not used to walking on a leash or stairs, but I am working on both with my foster family. Again – food motivates!
I love toys… and socks… and wrappers… and pretty much anything on the floor! I don’t destroy anything; I just bring them back to my crate and enjoy being surrounded by treasures. Otherwise, my manners are excellent! I do have this one little problem: please don’t tell anyone, but I might piddle a little when I get startled at first in my new home (so embarrassing!) but that only lasted a day at my foster home, then I showed off all my house broken splendor. I even like to use the same spot in the yard and make clean up super easy for my foster family!
So, I guess that’s me in a nutshell. Are you the right person to help get me out of my shell? I promise, I’m pretty special when that happens!
